Father Gerard Sauer is a Catholic priest who holds a master of arts in theology and a master of divinity from the Seminary of the Immaculate Conception in Huntington, New York. During his Pastoral Year of supervised parish ministry, he spearheaded the development of multiple parish programs, regularly attended parish meetings, and visited ailing people in the home and in hospital settings. Gerard Sauer was also actively involved with various community events.
Since 2006, Gerard Sauer has served as an adjunct instructor with the Department of Theology at St. John’s University in Jamaica, New York. In addition to preparing and teaching undergraduate courses both in the classroom and online, he worked with department leaders to develop curriculum and establish standards.
Father Gerard Sauer holds membership in multiple community and religious organizations, including the Knights of Columbus and the Cathedral Club of Brooklyn. In 2017, the Ozanam Hall Nursing Home in Queens honored him at its annual Rose of Carmel Dinner. He has also completed numerous pilgrimages to overseas destinations such as Israel and Jordan.
